How Much Does a Custom Vinyl Record Cost?

A custom 7-inch picture disc from VinylArt Co starts at £17.00, and 7-inch classic vinyl at £18.00, for one copy, with no minimum order. What you pay depends on the size, on picture disc or classic vinyl, and on whether you add a printed cover or a centre label.
Prices here are read live from our shop and shown in the currency of the region you pick in the top bar, checked 1 November 2026. The price you see is the price all year.

Records, by Size

Every record below is cut to order, one at a time. The price is per record, and one record is a normal order: there is no setup fee and no quantity you have to reach before the price makes sense.

Picture discs carry your photo edge to edge on the playing side and play on one side only. Classic vinyl has two sides and takes a printed centre label instead of a photo.

Times are the most each record holds per side, read from the product itself. Picture discs play on one side, so that figure is the whole record. Each price is the record's from price, the same figure its product page shows. A record costs less when it holds less, so a full side costs more; the product page shows both.

Covers and Centre Labels

A printed cover is the usual addition: a heavyweight card jacket with a matt or gloss laminated finish, printed with your own artwork and sized for the record it holds. Centre labels are for classic vinyl, and you can buy them on their own if you want spares or labels for records you already own.

Covers and labels are priced by size, the same way the records are.

What Changes Your Total

Size
A bigger disc is more material and more time under the stylus. A lathe cuts in real time, so a full side takes as long to cut as it takes to play.
Picture Disc or Classic Vinyl
A picture disc prints your image across the playing side and plays on one side. Classic vinyl is a plain record with two sides that takes a printed centre label.
A Printed Cover
Optional, priced by size, and the thing most people add. It is also where a message or a date usually ends up.
Centre Labels
Optional on classic vinyl, and sold on their own if you want a set for records you already have.
Delivery
Worked out at checkout from your address and what is in your cart, with Value and Express options where they are available.

Why One Record Costs What It Costs

A pressing plant makes records from metal stampers. Making those stampers is a real cost before a single record exists, which is why plants want a few hundred copies to spread it over, and why the wait is usually weeks or months, with delays that are hard to predict.

A lathe cuts the groove straight into the disc you keep, one record at a time, in real time. There are no stampers, so there is nothing to spread: one copy is a normal order. A batch does not have to wait for the whole run either. We cut it in order and send the records as they are finished, so the first ones go out within days. On a mass run pressing is cheaper per copy, if you can wait for it and every copy must be identical.

So the price of a custom record is mostly the record in front of you: the blank, the diamond stylus cutting it, the printing, the person who checks it before it is packed, and the box it travels in.

Fair Prices, All Year

Our prices stay the same all year: no flash offers, no seasonal surcharges and no busy-season price. What you see in December is what you saw in June. Two things do bring it down: more than one copy of a record costs less per copy, and a printed cover costs less when you order it with a record.

It is simpler for you and for us. You never have to work out whether to wait for a better price, and we never have to pretend one was higher last week.

What the Price Is, and What It Isn’t

It is

  • Per record, with a minimum order of one.
  • The same price all year, with no sale season.
  • Shown in the currency of the region you pick in the top bar.
  • The price of a record made for you, one at a time, in our workshop.

It Isn’t

  • A quote that arrives by email after you ask for one.
  • An introductory price that climbs once you are used to it.
  • A per-copy price that only works if you buy hundreds.
  • Your final total on its own. Delivery is added at checkout.

Who Cuts It

Your record is cut in our own workshop, on our own lathes, with cutting styli we make ourselves. The covers and the centre labels are printed here too. We have been doing it since 2016, and every order is QC checked before it ships.

Questions People Ask

How much does a custom vinyl record cost?

It depends on the size and the format you choose. The table above lists every record with its live price. Records are priced per copy, and one copy is a normal order.

Is there a minimum order?

No. One record is a normal order. We cut them one at a time, so there is no setup cost to spread across a run.

Does the price include delivery?

No. Delivery is worked out at checkout from your address and what is in your cart, so you see the figure before you pay.

How much does a printed cover cost?

Covers are priced by size and listed in the table above. They are heavyweight card jackets with a matt or gloss laminated finish, printed with your own artwork.

Do your prices change during the year?

No. Prices stay the same all year, with no seasonal offers and no rush charges. Order more than one copy of a record and the price per copy drops, and a printed cover costs less when you order it with a record.

Why does a lathe-cut record cost more per copy than a pressed one?

Because each one is cut on its own, in real time. A pressing plant pays for stampers once and then presses a run of identical copies, so on a mass run the per-copy price is lower. The trade is the wait: usually weeks or months, with delays that are hard to predict, and a minimum to reach. We cut one copy as a normal order, and a batch in order, sent as it is finished.

What currency are these prices in?

The currency of the region picked in the top bar. Change the region and every price on the site changes with it.
