What Is a 7-inch Vinyl Record?
A 7-inch is the small single, about 18 cm across, with an A side and a B side. It plays at 45 rpm, which is why a single is often called a 45, and it plays on any standard turntable. Ours holds up to 6 minutes a side.

Yes. A 7-inch is the classic single: an A side and a B side, up to 6 minutes each at 45 rpm. Send your own track or build a playlist, and we cut one copy, or a handful, to order. Want your picture on the record itself? Make a custom 7-inch picture disc.

About This Record
Upload your songs, record a message, or pick tracks and we buy them for you. You set the order of side A and side B in the designer.
- Recording time
- Up to 6 minutes per side, 12 minutes in all, and up to 12 tracks a side. The gaps between tracks count: 4 seconds each, unless you change them.
- Too long?
- Run over and the designer tells you. Take a track off, or let us trim the last one with a gentle fade.
- Speed
- 45 rpm.
- Built to last
- Made to last as long as a pressed record. It is not an acetate.
- Labels
- Leave the centre plain, choose a white label, or design your own centre labels in the same designer, side A and side B.
- Sleeve and cover
- A card insert sleeve is included, in black, white, red, yellow, blue, green, pink or purple. Add a printed cover in the same designer: it costs less with the record.
- Mastering
- Mastering included. Every record is mastered for vinyl before it is cut: levels and dynamics set so it plays back well. Send your audio mastered or not.
- Check it first
- At checkout, choose Approve first to hear your master and see the proofs before we make it. It adds about a day.
- More than one
- Each copy costs less when you order more than one of the same design.
- Packing
- Packed flat in a reinforced mailer and sent tracked. Your account shows each stage: verifying, mastering, cutting, shipped.
- Jukeboxes
- Not every jukebox or auto-return turntable plays a lathe-cut record right through, so we can't promise one will.

Yes. Commercial tracks are covered by our MCPS-PRS licence for private use, and your own recordings or a voice message are welcome too.
